Neal Barnard, M.D., is a nutrition researcher, an author, and the founder and president of The Cancer Project, an organization that works to advance cancer prevention and survival through nutrition education and research. Dr. Barnard is also the founder of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). Since its founding in 1985, PCRM has evolved into a nationwide organization of physicians and laypersons that promotes preventive medicine, conducts clinical research, and encourages higher standards for ethics and effectiveness in research. Dr. Barnard is also an adjunct associate professor of medicine at The George Washington University. He has been the principal investigator on several clinical trials, including a recent National Institutes of Health-funded study on diet and diabetes. He is the author of 14 books.
Dr. Barnard will moderate the conference panels.
