Presentation Title: Can a Vegetarian Diet Protect Children from Obesity?

 

Objectives:

  • Familiarize the participants with current literature on vegetarian diets and childhood

  • Review the health outcomes, including obesity of a large cohort of vegetarian and non vegetarian school aged children

  • Discuss the relationship between childhood weight and health in adulthood

Outcome: Participants will be better informed on the issues of child obesity and adult health in relationship to a vegetarian diet.
