About the Food for Life Program

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's (PCRM) Food for Life program is an award-winning program designed by physicians, nurses, and registered dietitians that offers cancer, diabetes, and kids’ classes that focus on the lifesaving effects of healthful eating. Each class includes information about how certain foods and nutrients work to promote health, along with cooking demonstrations of simple and nutritious recipes that can be recreated easily at home.

Our Food for Life classes have proven to be a very effective way of teaching people easy, practical ways to put the power of nutrition to work in their battle against cancer, diabetes, and other diseases.

PCRM works to strengthen its efforts as a leader in public health through the Food for Life program—just look at how we’ve grown!

  • 85 instructors in more than 34 states across the nation

  • 9,000 people reached yearly in more than 1,300 classes in 150 cities

  • Australia, Canada, Cuba, India, Jamaica, and Spain are countries where we’ve expanded abroad with Educational Alliance Program partnerships.

  • More than 700 children and their parents benefited the first year we launched the Food for Life Kids program.
