Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Class Series for Cancer Prevention and Survival

Classes are held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

Classes are held every Tuesday, see class topics below. There is a nominal $10 charge per session.

The Providence Center for the Healing Arts, in alliance with the Joslin Diabetes Center and The Cancer Project in Washington D.C., has launched these classes to educate the community on healthy food choices. Videos produced by The Cancer Project are presented in class to explain the science of how our food choices impact our health. Volunteer instructors demonstrate recipes selected from the class manual. All are welcome to sample the food and share their personal experiences. Class fee is $10. Take a class, bring a friend. You’ll discover things about nutrition that may surprise you.

Each class includes a nutrition video followed by a cooking demonstration and sampling of the food prepared. Classes are open to cancer survivors, friends, family, and anyone interested in cancer prevention and healthy eating.
